Is it a good idea to meet a ex for...?

I broke up with my ex boyfriend about 3 months ago... and the whole break up was crazy ugly. The last month he has been emailing ... like friends. Well today he asked if me and my daughter would like to go to lunch with him this weekend. I do still love him (but not enough to take him back and thru all I did with him ever again) and I think he wants us to get back together. But I went thru such Hell with him..I finally reached a point I feel good again about myself. He lives 300 miles away. I told him no... but He is asking me to reconsider and us all have lunch... Is this ever a good idea???
