Phlegmy throat in the morning?

Every morning I wake up and my throat is filled with phlegm with the grossest taste! I brush my teeth like crazy before bed but still have it. My husband has listened to me spitting it out ever since I've been 12 weeks pregnant, which I'm 22 weeks now. I've never heard of this before. Does anyone have any suggestions? :S
