Using Java Sound API , a basic music player supporting major audio formats be coded??? or I need to go for JMF

Please suggest with which I have to go with, Whether Java Sound API or JMF API. My project is a basic player which can play major (not all) ,for example mp3,avi,wav etc and with music file sharing over LAN(for which I will use java networking). So could anyone please suggest me the best API with which i can accomplish this.
