Good first car for $5000?

I'm 15 and I'm moving to Cali in just a few weeks and I wanna get my permit as soon as I get out there. I want to get an affordable car, between $3000-$5000. So far I like the 1998-2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse, Mitsubishi 3000gt, and the Nissan 300zx. I'm looking for something cool. I don't mind how fast it goes. I just want something that looks cool. If I could get any car I'd get the Scion xb. I don't know why, but I love that car. It looks great for getting friends around and its cool looking too. But its a little out of my price range. If you could give me a more affordable alternative to the xb that would be helpful too.Thanks
